Dorcas Kilduff has been active within the education sector provincially and in Spruce Grove’s schools for the past 10 years.
She began with her appointment to serve as the provincial parent-at-large on the minister’s review committee for outcomes of learning.
This was the start of her representation on behalf of parents with Alberta Education in areas such as curriculum development, student assessment, and policy development.
Recently she has been travelling to schools across the province conducting workshops designed to help school communities understand:
- Site-based management
- The planning process
- The roles and responsibilities of education partners within the school community
She is the chairperson for the Council of School Councils in Spruce Grove.
Dorcas is supportive of students, student learning and school communities, and she is committed to putting the needs of students first.
She plans to emphasize open and transparent communications, and wants the Board of Trustees to work closely with members of the school community to truly understand all viewpoints.
