The time is approaching for residents of Parkland School Division to decide who will shape and direct local education for the next three years. Elections for school trustee take place October 18, 2010.
School boards make important decisions that directly impact and help shape the development of our children. The Board of Trustees is accountable for the education of all students in Parkland School Division. The trustees work towards giving every student the best possible educational opportunity to assist them in becoming the future ambassadors of our communities. The role of a trustee is very complex and requires an honest commitment for the betterment of the children.
Seven candidates are elected every three years during a Municipal Election. Two candidates are elected for the City of Spruce Grove (Ward 5), one for the Town of Stony Plain (Ward 3) and one in each of the remaining rural wards.
Nomination Day for trustees is September 20, 2010.
