In 2007, Bill moved to École Broxton Park School as an Assistant Principal.

Scott Johnston, Principal, Tomahawk School
As Kathy Mann leaves to settle into her new position as Assistant Principal at École Broxton Park School, Scott Johnston enthusiastically accepted the position of Principal at Tomahawk School commencing the 2010-2011 school year.
Eleven years in the education system and a reputation for working collaboratively with staff, parents and students are characteristics well matched for a school with an early and middle years focus,” says Mary Lynne Campbell, Superintendent of Schools. “I am thrilled Scott has accepted this position and look forward to watching Tomahawk School continue to thrive under his leadership.”
Johnston joined the Parkland School Division team in 2003, teaching at École Broxton Park School for two years. Scott then moved to Greystone Centennial Middle School. During his tenure at Greystone Centennial Middle School, Scott was the AISI Technology and Integrated Project Coordinator, member of the Greystone Leadership Design Team and in 2008 was appointed an Assistant Principal. Scott has served the Division in many roles, over the 2009/2010 school year, assuming the role of Acting Principal at Seba Beach School from November to March and then accepting an Assistant Principalship at Stony Plain Central for the remainder of the school year.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Education from University of Calgary in 1999 and is actively working towards a Masters of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University, which he will complete in June, 2012.
“I am honored to take the role of Principal in a school that strives for academic excellence, a healthy sense of self-worth, respect for others and a strong commitment to good citizenship,” says Johnston. “ I am deeply excited to be working with the excellent students, parents, staff and community of Tomahawk School to continue to promote success through creativity, academic perseverance and a dedication to personal growth.”
Katherine Mann – Assistant Principal, École Broxton Park School
Effective with the commencement of the 2010/2011 school year, Katherine Mann will join the staff at École Broxton Park School, as Assistant Principal.
Katherine’s experience and enthusiasm will serve her well in her new position,” says Mary Lynne Campbell, Superintendent of Schools. “In addition to her leadership skills, Katherine is a strong advocate for children. Together with her teaching skills and administrative strengths, she’ll be a great addition to Broxton Park’s Leadership team.”
Mann began her teaching career with Parkland in 1992 at Muir Lake Community School, followed by a transfer to Duffield School in 1993. Mann’s solid reputation as bringing a high level of dedication, commitment and energy to her various teaching assignments led her to be appointed as Duffield’s Assistant Principal in 2003 and Principal at Tomahawk in 2005. Outside of her role at school, Mann has made several contributions at the jurisdictional level. She helped implement Parkland’s revised Individual Program Plans, was involved in developing and piloting the Grades 5-9 Citizenship and Social Responsibility Standards, worked with Learning Services to roll out the new Math curriculum and has mentored a beginning administrator.
Mann earned her Bachelor of Education, with distinction, in 1992 from the University of Alberta, majoring in French with a minor in English. In June 2008, she completed her Masters in Educational Leadership.
"I will very much miss the folks at Tomahawk School who have taught me so much about caring, leading and learning,” states Mann. “However, I am also looking forward to having an excellent opportunity to work with a team in such a unique setting as Broxton Park."
