Alberta Education Framework for Student Learning

By sharing more information from Alberta Education with our parent community, we hope to assist everyone in having a clearer understanding of how Parkland’s new report card format is aligning with current teaching and learning expectations from the ministry. We believe that this publication
will help provide some background and will help parents with the transition in reporting.

Framework for Student Learning: Competencies for Engaged Thinkers and Ethical Citizens with an Entrepreneurial Spirit is the culmination of work involving engagement with stakeholders and experts, review of trends and research, and development of ideas and recommendations.  This document describes a future in education that acknowledges the need for competencies to be more central in the education of Alberta’s young people in the 21st century.
