Board Meeting Highlights - December 13, 2011 

 

The Board of Trustees is pleased to provide you with the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday December 13, 2011. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.

Upcoming Trustee Activities:

  • Trustees look forward to attending various Christmas Concerts, Christmas Teas and Celebrations throughout the month of December.

Updates:

  • A presentation on International Teacher Exchange was offered to the Board of Trustees, by teacher Fran Korpela and Principal Randy Hetherington, from École Broxton Park School. Ms. Korpela will be participating in a one year exchange with a teacher from Australia.
  • Mr. Brad Schneider, Games Chair, provided the Board a presentation on the Alberta Winter Games to be held February 9-12, 2012 hosted by the City of Spruce Grove, the Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County.
  • The Board of Trustees received as information the draft 2012-2013 School Year Calendar, the draft 2013-2014 School Year Calendar and the draft 2014-2015 School Year Calendar and directed Administration to circulate the draft calendars to stakeholders for feedback. Stakeholders can view the draft calendars on Parkland School Division's School Year Calendar webpage.  Comments, concerns and questions can be forwarded to jfowlie@psd70.ab.ca. The calendars will be submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval at the Regular Board Meeting to be held on March 6, 2012.
  • The Board of Trustees approved an overall increase of 6.5% in premiums for the SunLife Insurance Plan.
