Parents and community members are invited to speak at Regular Meetings of the Board of Education. In an effort to be more open and accessible and to hear the voices of parents, PSD Trustees opted to adjust their agenda to ensure that involvement opportunities exist for public who attend their meetings. You don’t have to just sit and listen any more – yes, you get to contribute! Here are a couple of ways to be involved:
- Attend a Board Meeting as a gallery observer. When you enter the meeting room you may record your interest in speaking to the Trustees (including your question or topic). During the Recess Break, guests may participate in a public question period.
- The Board of Education welcomes presentations on educational matters. To make a more formal representation to the Board, interested individuals or groups should contact Brenda Scott to obtain the guidelines and understand the process.
If you are unable to attend a meeting, Board Highlights and all Board Meeting Minutes are posted here.
A strong partnership with the parents and community strengthens public education. Thank you for your interest in ensuring that our students receive a first class education.
