Over the next 2 years, all K-9 schools in Parkland School Division will be distributing new report cards. The new report card emphasizes “how” students learn and where they are in the learning continuum, rather than “what” students learn.
Why the Change?
Student assessment has been a priority for the division for over 10 years. Every school has been working towards ensuring students' learning is enhanced through fair and effective assessment practice.
The report card is one small part of the assessment picture. The bigger focus is on the collective effort of improving student learning and ensuring that reporting the learning offers parents a deeper understanding of what the student can and cannot do.
