Superintendent Accepts Senior Position with Public School Boards Association

Mary Lynne Campbell, Superintendent, Parkland School Division (PSD), has accepted the position of Executive Director, Public School Boards Association of Alberta effective August 01, 2010.

Campbell has served as Superintendent for nine years and during that period she has provided strong leadership and vision to enhance learning and students’ future success. Some of her accomplishments included a system-wide strategic planning process to review the Division’s operations, a Citizenship and Social Responsibility curriculum (K-9) and the opening of a new Middle School and a 1500 student Comprehensive High School.

“Mary Lynne has provided an invaluable service to our school division and she will be greatly missed,” said Richard Gilchrist, Board Chair, PSD. “Speaking on behalf of all trustees, we appreciated her strong counsel and guidance on the many different initiatives that required reasonable and thoughtful decisions. Regardless of the situation, the success of our students always came first for Mary Lynne.”

Campbell’s leadership and support of staff have resulted in PSD being recognized as a high achieving school division as demonstrated by the awards that teachers and other staff have received over the years. “While we regret Mary Lynne leaving the PSD, we realize that the Public School Boards Association is fortunate to have a person of her caliber leading the organization,” said Gilchrist.  “We wish Mary Lynne all the best in her new role.”
