Parkland School Division Trustees and Administration have taken the time to consider the most effective and appropriate allocation of the additional funds announced by Premier Alison Redford on October 14, 2011.
With respect to the additional funding support of $1.031M, Parkland School Division has:
- Restored AISI (Alberta Initiative for School Improvement) funding of $388K distributed to schools to continue the work of Cycle 4 (Critical Thinking).
- Increased teaching staff by 5.55 FTE.
The $424K received for Classroom and Community Supports has:
- Allowed us to increase teaching staff by 3.0 FTE.
- Will provide professional development, training and learning opportunities to implement school-based learning coaches.
We are pleased to have these resources available to support the great work that is happening in our classrooms across the Division.
