Parkland School Division (PSD) was incredibly pleased to publicly unveil its new vision, mission and values statements to over 1,000 employees, local government officials, and the Minister of Education, the Honourable Jeff Johnson, earlier today at Memorial Composite High School.
PSD will be guided by a vision that captures the importance of exploration, creativity and imagination for all leaners in the Division. The future-focused mission speaks to the importance of preparing, engaging, and inspiring our students to be their best in a quickly changing global community.
“As we start a new school year, we are very pleased to be introducing a new vision and mission, along with values and beliefs across the Division,” said Richard Gilchrist, Chair of Parkland School Division’s Board of Trustees. Gilchrist added, “Our new vision/mission is the culmination of months of work that involved many stakeholder groups in PSD – parents, students, teachers, administrators, support staff, and school council representatives – and, we are quite excited about the future.”
“In PSD, we have an amazing opportunity to help all of our children discover their creativity, provide exploration opportunities, and imagine what their future and dreams could be,” said Tim Monds, PSD’s Superintendent of Schools. Monds also noted, “What an exciting time to be in education. I envision each child in Parkland School Division inspired to do their best in this quickly changing world community we live in.”
