Introduction:

Canada is the second largest country in the world. Canada stretches from the Pacific to the Atlantic oceans and has ten provinces and three territories. Do you know how Canada got its name? Click here to find out.

Canada is a wonderful country to live in. People from all over the world are hearing about this and are becoming interested in what Canada has to offer.

One group of people in particular are very interested! We have been told that Harry Potter and his wizard friends have decided that they would like to move to Canada but they are uncertain where they should live. Should they live by the Rocky Mountains, the Prairies, near the Pacific or Atlantic oceans or near the Great Lakes? They are so confused.

Harry needs some help to decide. He has requested that some Canadian students should be recruited as Travel Advisement Wizards to help him make his decision. After looking over all the students in Canada, Harry has decided that the students at Broxton Park School would be the perfect helpers.

Congratulations you have been selected to be Harry's Travel Advisement Wizard! Here is your wizard hat.

So pack your school bags and prepare for an exciting adventure to learn about Canada! You are about to experience this adventure through the internet, books, maps, Broxton Park Canada database, pictures and the World Book CD Rom.

From this point forward you will now be a Travel Advisement Wizard to Harry Potter. Enjoy your adventure, Harry Potter is counting on you!!

Task:

As a Travel Advisement Wizard to Harry Potter, you will research and present information you gather about your province or Territories. You will be given a set of questions that Harry would like answers for. You can also include any other information that you find interesting.

Print the question sheet out and fill in the answers as you find them.

To keep you on track, create a Kidspiration mind map of the topics you need to find information on. Put your name on this mindmap and print it for your notebook.

Once you have found answers to all the questions, ask your teacher how to access the Broxton Park Canada database. Find your province or territory and check your answers with the database.

Your next assignment will be to create a Kid Pix slideshow presentation on your province and present what you have learned to your class.

Your slideshow should include:
