Unique Features

Parkland serves 9,454,  K - 12 students residing on the western edge of Edmonton, Alberta, surrounding & including the City of Spruce Grove, Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County.

  • Strongly supports both urban and rural public education through its 22 Schools.

  • Provides parents choice in programming by offering 11 Programs of Choice, including French Immersion, Christian Program, Home Education and Outreach Campuses.

  • Fosters an inclusive approach to serving students with special needs, but maintains a full complement of Programs of Need.

  • Addresses the complex needs of at-risk students by working with community agencies under our Sunrise Support Initiative to find appropriate and effective interventions.

  • Recognizes the unique needs of First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students and their families by providing support services through Native Liaison Workers.

  • Measures its success through a variety of Student Achievement indicators, including classroom based assessments, satisfaction levels, scholarships, and completion rates, as outlined in the jurisdiction's AERR.

  • Provides small class sizes, in accordance to Alberta Education standards.

  • Improves student learning and performance by setting Quality Learning Standards and fostering initiatives through Educational Research.
