Quality Learning Standards
Continuous improvement is part of Parkland's culture. During the
2006/07 school year, each school will be working to meet at
least two of the Quality Learning Standards
listed below as the basis for school review and program improvement
planning over the next three years. Schools' progress towards meeting
these standards will be reported on yearly through their Annual
Reports, released each November.
1. Enhanced understanding of Early and Middle Years pedagogy and
practice by school community members in all K – 9 schools.
2. Improved results for students with Special Needs and those who
are at-risk.
3. Improved results for First Nation, Metis and Inuit learners.
4. Expanded use of Assessment for Learning practices across K – 12.
5. Improved results in Mathematics K – 12.
6. Improved student performance at the Standard of Excellence
7. Improved High School completion and transition rates
8. Improved student performance in demonstrating skills of
Citizenship and Social Responsibility
9. Improved community satisfaction with education
