Highlights of what they said during the 2007-2008 school year:

 

Parents

  • 90 percent believe that Parkland is providing students with a good education.
  • 88 percent are satisfied with the “educational progress and achievements of their child”.
  • 90 percent believe their child’s school is helping students become good citizens.
  • 90 percent reported satisfaction with the “opportunities the school offers for their involvement in school activities".
  • 88 percent feel their child is treated fairly by adults in their child’s school.

Students

  • 91 percent of Grade 3 & 6 students and 84% of Grade 9 & 12 students believe that Parkland is providing them with a good education.
  • 89 percent of Grade 3 & 6 students were satisfied that computers help improve academic performance.
  • 90 percent of Grade 3 & 6 students believe their school is helping them become good citizens.
  • 92 percent of Grade 3 & 6 students feel safe and secure while in class and in school buildings.
  • 93 percent of Grade 3 & 6 students feel they are treated fairly by adults in their school.

Staff

  • 90 percent are satisfied that professional development activities are very accessible.
  • 89 percent are satisfied that professional development activities contributed to their ongoing professional growth.
  • 93 percent are satisfied with the variety of program choices available in Parkland.
  • 89 percent are satisfied that their assigned work responsibilities are reasonable.
  • 84 percent are satisfied that their school/site is a good place to work.
