School Notes - School Activities for the Month of March 2010

 

Blueberry Community School

• Acapella group “HOJA” will be performing for students on March 4 at 1:15 pm
• Report cards go home - March 22
• Parent Teacher Interviews - March 23 & 25 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm
 

Brookwood School

• Brookwood’s 6th Annual Brookopoly Walk-A- Thon - March 22 -26 - Each day as a class, students will walk 15 – 20 minutes to complete the Walk-A-Thon. Students, with their parents’ support, will collect pledges that will go toward building a new school playground and help with the school beautification project. As a fun bonus, classes will play BROOKOPOLY during their walks (based on the game of Monopoly) and have a chance to win a prize party. There will also be all kinds of new and exciting prizes for this year’s top money raisers!!
• Reports cards go home - March 24. While there is no Parent/ Student/Teacher conferences scheduled with this report card, parents are welcome to set up a time to meet with their child’s teacher should they wish to.  

 

École Broxton Park School
• Scrapbooking for Haiti - March 6 from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm
School Council will be hosting a scrapbooking crop on Saturday to join in the school-wide efforts to raise much needed funds for those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. All proceeds will be donated through the Red Cross including registration fees and monies raised from raffle ticket sales. Join in the fun at the École Broxton Park School Gym. Your $50.00 registration fee includes crop space, lunch and dinner, and entry to win a grand prize draw! Further details available on www.broxtonpark.ca - Parent Council tab.

Connections for Learning
• Thursday, March 4, at 3:00 pm is the deadline to submit assignments for marking for Term 2 Report Cards
• Parent Teacher Interviews - March 23 & 24, 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. Please phone for an appointment!

 

Duffield School

• Farm Safety Presentations - March 4 and 5
• Report cards go home - March 19
• Parent/Teacher Interviews - March 22 and 23
• 15 Students, parents and staff will be heading to London, Paris and Rome for a 10 day trip over spring break. 

 

Forest Green School

• Forest Green Family Dance - March 5 from 6:00 - 9:30 pm
• Parent Council Meeting - March 18 at 7:00 pm
 

Graminia School

• Grade 9 High School Transition Meeting for Parents to meet with staff from Spruce Grove Composite High School - Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 pm
• Parent Teacher Interviews for K-9 - March 24 and 25 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. Look out for interview appointment notices to arrive home for Grades 1 - 6.

Greystone Centennial Middle School

• 2nd Annual Pasta Palooza Family Dinner - March 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Come out for a pasta dinner, to relax and enjoy some entertainment and check out the Silent Auction.
• Student Led Conferences - March 16 and March 18. Each Learning Community will be sending home information letters. Students will share projects and assessments with parents.

Woodhaven Middle School

• Parent Information Night for Grade 9 parents regarding high school registration - March 10 at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room.
• All students will be participating in Health Day on March 22. The topic will be mental health. To keep mental health on a positive note, we will be focusing on all aspects of mental health.
