Our School

Forest Green School and Connections for Learning (CFL) work as a collaborative team to meet the needs of each student (K-12) within our care. We serve students with varying needs at both sites and believe that sharing best practice between staff gives us more opportunities to enable students to be successful. Before deep learning can occur, we must ensure that we build strong relationships with our learning community so that all students feel safe, cared for, and that their ideas will be respected.

At our school sites, we believe that ALL stakeholders can be leaders (students, staff and parents), and with this goal in mind, we find different ways to encourage all to find their passion and share their love of lifelong learning. Programs such as “Responsible Contributions” and “Everyday Heroes” help us work towards our goals of leadership, while also enabling all students to be respectful and responsible global citizens.

Within our school sites, we believe that parental involvement provides more opportunities for our students to be successful. Parents are encouraged to take part in different functions of our schools including parent advisory council, school dances, pancake breakfasts, and our Parent Partnership program, just to name a few. We provide many opportunities for parents not only to learn about what is going on at our school through our monthly newsletter and website, but through school and classroom blogs, they have the opportunity to communicate with staff and learn along with their children.

Working as a school community will give us the opportunity to enable all students to become leaders in success. The power of many is more than the few.
