Welcome to the Homepage of the Panther International Volleyball Tournament hosted by Spruce Grove Composite High School. The 16th edition of this prestigious tournament will take place on Oct. 10/11, 2008 in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada. 24 varsity girl's teams and 24 varsity boy's teams will take part over two days of volleyball action.
In previous years we have hosted teams from Germany, Norway, USA, Australia and across Canada. Again in 2008 Norway will be represented by a boy's team and a girl's team from Nyborg Volleyball Klubben (Bergen, Norway). Nyborg boy's will hope to regain their title from 2005 after just falling short in 2007 in an exciting final against Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. Nyborg girl's will be attempting to take the ladies title which went to Semiahmoo from British Columbia. As we look back on our 2007 tournament we are proud to see that 16 teams that participated went on to medal at their respective Provincial Championships. This is a testament to the high level of competition at our event. As always, we anticipate many of the top programs from across Canada will be present in 2008. Panther International is excited to continue our relationship with the Transalta Tri-Leisure Centre in 2008 with the use of 7 courts. With 1 court on hardwood and 6 courts played on Sportcourt, teams will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a large audience.
