Registration for returning students for the 2018-2019 school year will begin April 1, 2018. Bus registration is now included as part of the regular school registration process, which is detailed on our Registration Page.
In order for your child to have his/her bus pass for the first day of school (Tuesday, September 4, 2018), bus pass applications must be received no later than 4:30pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 to be included in the routing process. Payment arrangements must be received through PSD’s online payment system (Rycor) or in the Division Office on or before Friday, August 10, 2018 to ensure your bus pass will be available for pickup at your school (starting Wednesday, August 22) and guarantee eligibilty to ride the bus the first day of school.
Any applications received after the application deadline may not be processed in time for the first day of school. If your child does not have a valid bus pass for the 2018-2019 school year, he/she will not be able to ride the bus.
Parents are expected to register their child at their designated school. The designated school is determined by your address in relationship to the attendance area established by The Board.
Attendance area maps are available at all schools in our division. You may also obtain attendance area maps by contacting Transportation Services at 780-963-8452. To obtain this information, you will be required to provide your street or municipal address.
Fee Payment & Bus Pass Pickup
For those parents or guardians who have yet to make payment arrangements and pick up their bus pass, those are waiting and ready to be picked up at Parkland School Division’s Centre for Education located at 4603 - 48 Street in Stony Plain. Pick up is available during regular business hours Monday through Friday between 8:30am-4:30pm at main reception.
If your child does not have a valid bus pass for the 2018-2019 school year, he/she will not be able to ride the bus.
In order to avoid any interruptions to your bus service, please make arrangements for payment and bus pass pick up as soon as possible. Beginning October 15, 2018, those students who have had a pass processed and payment arrangements have not been made or the pass has still not been picked up, will be removed from drivers’ lists and will not be able to ride the bus home.
Payment arrangements (pay in full or partial payment plans) must be received through PSD’s online payment system (Rycor), or in person at the Parkland School Division Office to be eligible to ride the bus. For Parkland School Division parents, you can access the online payment system by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Alternatively, if you originally registered for busing but have chosen to no longer access this service, please let us know so we can update our records.
No Afternoon Bus Service Without A Pass
It's very easy for a child to hop onto a bus in the morning and get to a transfer station. Staff can then direct children without a pass to the right bus to head to their correct school.
The reverse is not the same. Staff won't know which bus to put a child on once they get to the respective transfer sites during the afternoon runs, if they DO NOT have a pass that indicates which route goes back to their neighbourhood and which stop to get off including alternate stops for daycares, day homes, split custody or other guardianship arrangements for care after school.
In order to avoid children without passes riding an unknown bus and being stranded at the wrong transfer station parents of children who do not have a pass will have to make arrangements to pick up their children at school at the end of the day until passes have been processed and payments received if there are fees owing.
Busing Address Change Requests
