Bus Registration

Bus passes will be delivered via Canada Post to the primary mailing address in August.

Students without a valid bus pass for the current school year will not be able to ride the bus.

Payment arrangements (paid in full or through partial payment plans) must be made through PSD’s online payment system (Rycor), or in person at the Parkland School Division Office in order for students to be eligible to ride the bus. Parkland School Division parents can access the online payment system by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Alternatively, if you originally registered for busing but have chosen to no longer access this service, please let us know so we can update our records.

It's very easy for a child to hop onto a bus in the morning and get to a transfer station. Staff can then direct children without a pass to the right bus to head to their correct school.

The reverse is not the same. Staff won't know which bus to put a child on once they get to the respective transfer sites during the afternoon runs if that child DOES NOT have a pass that indicates which route goes back to their neighbourhood and which stop to get off, including alternate stops for daycares, day homes, split custody or other guardianship arrangements for care after school.

In order to avoid children without passes riding an unknown bus and being stranded at the wrong transfer station, parents of children who do not have a pass will have to make arrangements to pick up their children at school at the end of the day until passes have been processed and payments received if there are fees owing.

To change an existing address once your busing has been approved for the current school year, please email Transportation@psd.ca with your requested change. Please allow up to five business days to process your request.

To register and verify your information as a returning Parkland School Division student for the current school year, please log into the PowerSchool parent portal and look for the RSVP icon in the left side navigation.  

All parents will be required to complete this new online process each school year.

Kindergarten / New Student Registration 

A child entering Kindergarten must be five years old by the last day of December of the school year in which he or she begins Kindergarten. For example, a child registering for Kindergarten in September 2023 needs to be five years old by December 31, 2023.

A child entering Grade 1 must be six years old by the last day of December of the school year in which he or she begins Grade 1. For example, a child registering for Grade 1 in September 2023 needs to be six years old by December 31, 2023.

Please Note:

• Registration requirements for Kindergarten are the same as Grades 1 through 12.
• Parkland School Division is pleased to offer a number of program choices for Kindergarten students, including French Immersion, the Maranatha Christian Program and Nature-Based Kindergarten. More information can be found on our Programs page.
• Kindergarten programs are offered on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday with alternating Fridays.
