Guiding Principles for Negotiations

At its May 1, 2012 regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the following Guiding Principles for Negotiations.

1. Success for Students
   • The Board always considers what is best for students and requires flexibility in order to be as responsive as possible.
2. Fiscal Responsibility
   • The Board requires a balanced and sustainable budget in order to address priorities.
3. Responsible Governance
   • The Board is responsible to the community at large (including all stakeholders) and is committed to keeping the public well informed.
4. Fairness
   • The Board is committed to collective agreements that are fair and comparable among PSD employee groups and Alberta school jurisdictions.
